MEMORIAL RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF RICHARD TECHMAN

 

 

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this chamber, friends and neighbors learned of the death of Richard Techman on October 15, 2022. We would like to honor Richard Techman on his many years of tireless service to his community; and

 

WHEREAS, WHEREAS, Richard Techman, a lifelong 23rd Ward resident and a parishioner of St. Daniel the Prophet Church, He attended and graduated from John F, Kennedy High School (1975), Richard D. Daley College (1989) and Columbia College Chicago (1992); and

 

WHEREAS, WHEREAS, Richard Techman was married to Michelle Techman for 14 years. They met through a mutual interest in assisting those affected by mental illness through the National Alliance on Mental illness, He had participated and managed various seminars where he assisted those affected by mental health throughout the state and local community; and

 

WHEREAS, WHEREAS, Richard Techman had also worked diligently for more than four decades within his local community, He joined the Garfield Ridge Civic League in 1984 and was president from 2005 to 2015. He has remained a member since, and has helped in events ranging from fundraisers to solving local community issues; therefore,

 

WHEREAS, Richard Techman was also a member of the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch, Attending the monthly meetings, he always made himself available to volunteer at community events held by GRNW and was their primary Public Safety Traffic Control person, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this 7th day of November, do hereby honor the life and memory of Richard Techman and extend to his family and many friends our sincere condolences and;
