RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Sean P. O'Shea has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of46;and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Sean is survived by his husband, Sebastian Contreras Jr, his mother, Mary, his siblings, Michael, Daniel CPD (Michelle), and Colleen, and other family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Sean graduated from DePaul University and American University Washington College of Law; and
WHEREAS, Sean was a Partner at Alexander, Borovicka & O'Shea Government Solutions, LLC lobbying firm; and
WHEREAS, Sean was a notable name in government and lobbying circles in Illinois and Washington, D.C., where he worked for both former President Bill Clinton and former U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton; and
WHEREAS, During the Clinton Administration, Sean worked in the Office of Cabinet Affairs; and
WHEREAS, While working for Senator Clinton, he was Projects Director and Legislative Assistant, handling domestic appropriation bills, transportation and infrastructure issues, homeland security and health matters related to the aftermath ofthe 9/11 attacks on New York City; and
WHEREAS, Sean worked in Springfield, Illinois where he was Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Pat Quinn; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Sean imparts a legacy of generosity, compassion, devotion to family and unwavering faith in God; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this Eighteenth day of January, 2023, do hereby commemorate Sean for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sean P. O'Shea.
