RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called Thomas F. Tapling to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman ofthe 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Thomas "Tommy" Tapling passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side. He was the loving Husband of Elizabeth O'Connell. Incredible father of Kerry Tapling (Patrick Anderson), Adam & "Goose" Tapling and Colby (Abi) Tapling. Very proud Papa of Camryn Anderson. Beloved Son of the late Thomas and Effie Tapling. Dear Brother of Jimmy Tapling, Marty (Teresa) Tapling and the late Andy (late Yvonne) Tapling. His many sister and brother -in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends, will dearly remember him. Tommy worked for the CTA for over 30 years. He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union #73 and St. Lawrence Fathers Club; and
WHEREAS, Thomas F. Tapling is fondly remembered by his family as the epitome of a fighter and somebody who showed such perseverance. He was a kind, hardworking, genuine, and fun person! His goofy voicemails, daily phone calls, group texts and good nature will be hard to go without; and
WHERAS, Thomas F. Tapling leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion and love; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this eighteenth day of January 2023, hereby express our sorrow on the death of Thomas F. Tapling and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to the family of Thomas F. Tapling.
