HONORING AN EXTRAORDINARY MAN
ATTORNEY LARRY R. ROGERS SR,
WHEREAS, Attorney Larry R. Rogers, Sr. was called home by his Heavenly Father, "Come for I have prepared a place specifically for thee, a mansion the size ofa nation where your soul will find eternal rest. On the south side ofthe mansion are book shelves filled with every challenging case that you have won. Within,a few feet ofthe north wing are photographs of every man, woman and child whose.heart you have touched." Immediately, tears began to wail up in the eyes of Attorney Larry R. Rogers, Sr., as he lifted his eyes towards his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ;'and
WHEREAS, those who sat under the tutelage of Attorney Larry R. Rogers, Sr., respected his unending patience and keen foresight about matters that appeared to be nearly intolerable to all of us. Without hesitation, I can say, Attorney Larry R. Rogers, Sr., showed people how to take the bull by the horns and lead the \vay on every forefront with an ease that only God can give; and
WHEREAS, his commitment to education and listening with an intent to hear and serve people.from different backgrounds, cultures and nationalities unlocked numerous doors of opportunity for him in ways some people would never imagine He was a judicious Trial Lawyer and Founding Partner of Power Rogers, LLP. He served faithfully in his elected positions as President of the Cook County Bar Association and the first African American President for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. With everything;he accomplished and much more than can be expressed in one setting, Attorney Larry R. Rogers, Sr., was a humble soul never arrogant. Always made his family a priority and loved them without complaint. He was a mentor extraordinaire and many are beyond grateful for thc knowledge shared with me and so many others in the legal and political profession; and
