ORDINANCE

 

WHEREAS, Ordinances approving Amendment #1 to the Redevelopment Plan for the MaddenA/Vells Redevelopment Project Area [02022-3999], designating the expanded MaddenA/Vells Redevelopment Project Area a Redevelopment Project Area Pursuant to the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act [02022-4000], and adopting tax increment allocation financing for Amendment #1 to the MaddenA/Vells Redevelopment Project Area [02022-4001] (collectively the "MaddenA/Vells ordinances") were passed at the meeting of the Committee on Finance held on January 12, 2023, and subsequently by the City Council on January 18, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Ordinances approving Amendment #6 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Bronzeville Redevelopment Project Area [02022-4003], designating the expanded Bronzeville Redevelopment Project Area a Redevelopment Project Area Pursuant to the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act [02022-4004], and adopting tax increment allocation financing for Amendment #6 to the Bronzeville Redevelopment Project Area [02022-4005] (collectively the "Bronzeville ordinances") were passed at the meeting of the Committee on Finance held on January 12, 2023, and subsequently by the City Council on January 18, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Ordinances approving Amendment #3 to the Redevelopment Plan for the 43rd/Cottage Grove Redevelopment Project Area [02022-4006], designating the expanded 43rd/Cottage Grove Redevelopment Project Area a Redevelopment Project Area Pursuant to the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act [02022-4007], and adopting tax increment allocation financing for Amendment #3 to the 43rd/Cottage Grove Redevelopment Project Area [02022-4009] (collectively the "43rd/Cottage Grove ordinances") were passed at the meeting of the Committee on Finance held on January 12, 2023, and subsequently by the City Council on January 18, 2023; and

 

WHEREAS, The order of passage of the MaddenA/Vells, Bronzeville, and 43rd/Cottage Grove ordinances did not give proper effect to the intent of the ordinances under prevailing law; and

WHEREAS, In order to properly implement the intent of the MaddenA/Vells, Bronzeville, and 43rd/Cottage Grove ordinances it is necessary to repeal them and pass new versions in the proper order; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. 02022-3999, approving Amendment #1 to the Redevelopment Plan for the MaddenA/Vells Redevelopment Project Area, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 2. 02022-4000, designating the expanded MaddenA/Vells Redevelopment Project Area a Redevelopment Project Area Pursuant to the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 3. 02022-4001, adopting tax increment allocation financing for Amendment #1 to the MaddenAA/ells Redevelopment Project Area, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

SECTION 4. 02022-4003, approving Amendment #6 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Bronzeville Redevelopment Project Area, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 5. 02022-4004, designating the expanded Bronzeville Redevelopment Project Area a Redevelopment Project Area Pursuant to the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 6. 02022-4005, adopting tax increment allocation financing for Amendment #6 to the Bronzeville Redevelopment Project Area, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 7. 02022-4006, approving Amendment #3 to the Redevelopment Plan for the 43rd/Cottage Grove Redevelopment Project Area, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 8. 02022-4007, designating the expanded 43rd/Cottage Grove Redevelopment Project Area a Redevelopment Project Area Pursuant to the Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, is hereby repealed in its entirety.

 

SECTION 9. 02022-4009, adopting tax increment allocation financing for Amendment #3 to the 43rd/Cottage Grove Redevelopment Project Area, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
