TRIBUTE TO THE LATE PASTOR RICHARD L. SCHULER
WHEREAS, Pastor Richard L Schuler better known as Pastor Rich, a giving and committed man of God, was taken from this world on February 9, 2023 at the age of 68. He had overcame a myriad of medical issues and remained determined, but the complications that followed were ultimately too much for his body to withstand; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Rich was born to Jeanette and Luke Schuler on July 6, 1954, followed by his brothers Luke, William, Mark, and John. He was blessed to be married to his loving wife, Mary Beth, two children, Richard and his wife Jenny and Amanda and her husband Jamison. Pastor Rich was also blessed by his grandchildren Jude, Ezekiel, and the late Penny; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Rich was a man who led by example. He was a devout, lifelong follower of Christ and he practiced what he preached, showing kindness and love to all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was honest, caring, and generous. He was there for you when you needed him, and even when you didn't; and
WHEREAS, In 2021, Pastor Rich got to live up to his full potential in the church when he had the immense honor of becoming an ordained pastor in the ECO and pastor of CrossRoads Community Church where he preached the Word of God that brought such joy to his soul; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this 15th day of March 2023, do hereby express our sincere sorrow upon learning of the passing of Pastor Richard L. Schuler and extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and all those whose lives he has touched through his ministry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Mrs. Mary Beth Schuler
