RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Dorothy Kaczmarczyk celebrates her centennial birthday on March 14, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Raymond A. Lopez, Alderman of the 15th Ward; and,
WHEREAS, Dorothy is an enthusiastic, active and beloved resident of the city's Brighton Park community; and,
WHEREAS, Dorothy was the third of four children, she attended Visitation School and Lindblom High School; and,
WHEREAS, On September 14,1947 she married her soul mate Henry at St. John of God Church; and,
WHEREAS, She and Henry called the Brighton Park community home since 1972, where they were active at Five Holy Martyrs Parish organizations and clubs, including the Seniors Group, VFW Auxiliary Post #500, and the Holy Name of Jesus Society; and,
WHEREAS, Dorothy loved cooking, baking knitting & crocheting and highlighting her creativity in every imaginable way for herself, friends and family; and,.
WHEREAS, Raffles, Dottie, Booker, Ruby, Bella and Cooper will always have a special place in her heart; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, That we, the Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 15th Day of March, 2023, do hereby congratulate Dorothy Kaczmarczyk on her 100th birthday celebrated with her friends, family and those whom she has lovingly impacted throughout her lifetime; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dorothy Kaczmarczyk in recognition of her occasion.
