CITY COUNCIL: May 24, 2023
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CHICAGO:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 2-8-040 of the Municipal Code of Chicago, which allows erection of honorary street name designations, the Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Transportation shall take the necessary action for the standardization of W. Berteau Avenue between N. Leclaire Avenue and N. Dickinson Avenue as "Honorary Larry Chase Way".
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication.

RESOLUTION HONORING THE MEMORY OF LARRY DAVID CHASE
WHEREAS, God called Larry David Chase home on January 9, 2023 and he is sorely missed by so many; and
WHEREAS, Larry is survived by his loving wife Eva and his sister Laura Chase; and
WHEREAS, Larry was the son of Milton Chase, Jr., Judith Chase and the stepson of Patricia Chase who rejoiced upon his arrival in Heaven; and
WHEREAS, Larry proudly served our Country, joining the U.S. Navy at eighteen and serving on the U.S.S. Iwo Jima, often recounting fond memories of the friends he made during his service; and
WHEREAS, After being stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base in Waukegan, IL, Larry started his own company, The Paper Chase, in 1987 where he met the love of his life, Eva, wedding her in 1993, and
WHEREAS, Larry David Chase was known to many, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked with a smile on his face and an idea in his head; and
WHEREAS, Larry was a life-long animal lover giving wonderful homes to many furry friends over the years, most recently giving a loving home to his "girls" Cocoa, Patty and Taylor, which he and Eva adopted from the Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Larry was a man of many interests and talents, including gardening, woodworking (building two beautiful built-ins in his home), music (including an extensive vinyl collection), traveling and cooking; and
