Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago:
SECTION 1. That the Commissioner of Buildings, the Commiasioner of Environment, the Commissioner of Transportation, the Commissioner of Streets and Sanitation, the Commissioner of Water Management, the Commissioner of Fire, the Director of Business Affairs and Licensing and the Executive Director of Construction and Permits are hereby directed to issue ail necessary permits, all on-site water/sewer inspection fees and all water/sewer plan review fees, free of charge, notwithstanding other ordinances of the City of Chicago to the contrary, to Ronald McDonald House, a not-for-profit institution related to the erection and maintenance of buildings located at 622 West Deming Place.
Said building(s) and all appurtenances thereto shall be used exclusively for educational purposes and shall not be leased or otherwise used with a view to profit, and the work thereon shall be done In accordance with plans submitted and all of the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago and departmental requirements of various departments of the City of Chicago, and said buiWlng(8) and ail appurtenances thereto shall be constructed and maintained so that they shall comply in ail respects with the requirements of the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago for the Issuance of all permits and licenses.
SECTION 2. Ronald McDonald House, engaged in community, educational and related activities, shall be exempt from the payment of city license fees and shall be entitled to the cancellation of warrants for the collection of inspection fees.
SECTION 3. Ronald McDonald House shall be entitled to a refund of city fees which it has paid and from which it is exempt pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be In force for a period of two (2) years but in no event beyond March 1,2012.

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago:
SECTION 1. The University of Chicago, an Illinois corporation, not for pecuniary profit, located on the south side of Chicago, engaged in educational, medical and related activities, shall be exempt from the payment of all city fees and charges related to the erection and maintenance of school and hospital buildings and other buildings and fuel storage facilities, including student residential buildings connected with the University of Chicago, and the Commissioner of Buildings, the Commissioner of Aviation, the Commissioner of Streets and Sanitation, the Commissioner of Transportation, the Director of Business Affairs and

Licensing, the Commissioner of Water Management, the Commissioner of Public Health, the Commissioner of Human Services, the Commissioner of Fire, the Director of Revenue and the commissioners or directors of all other city departments, are hereby directed to issue all necessary permits and licenses and provide other city services as hereinabove described, free of charge, to the University of Chicago for the period January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011.
Said building and all appurtenances thereto shall be used exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and the work thereon shall done in accordance with all of the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago and departmental requirements of various departments of the City of Chicago, and said buildings and ail appurtenances thereto shall be constructed and maintained so that they shall comply in all respects with the requirements of the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago for the issuance of all permits and licenses.
SECTION 2. That the University of Chicago be entitled to a refund of all city fees which it has paid and from which it is exempt pursuant to Section 1 of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in force for the period of January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011.

Your Committee on Finance, having had under consideration two orders authorizing the waiver of special event raffle license fees (referred November 25, 2009), having had the same under advisement, begs leave to report and recommend that Your Honorable Body Pass the proposed orders transmitted herewith.
This recommendation was concurred in by a viva voce vote of the members of the Committee.
