TO THE HONORABLE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I transmit herewith a resolution honoring the life and memory of Patricia Green. Your favorable consideration of this resolution will be appreciated.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Members of this Chamber were deeply saddened to learn of the death on December 20, 2010, at age 68, of Patricia Green, a distinguished Chicagoan and dedicated public servant; and
WHEREAS, Born on March 6, 1942, Mrs. Green grew up in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago, where she attended the Nativity of Our Lord school, and where she was a faithful member of the Parish; and
WHEREAS, In 1961, at age 19, Mrs. Green married Mr. G. Patrick Green, whom she met while she was in high school, and the couple raised two children, Susan Green and the late Pamela Green-Pistilion; and
WHEREAS, A long-time public servant, Mrs. Green diligently served the City of Chicago and its residents for twenty-five years at various city departments and positions, including as a supervisor; and
WHEREAS, A loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, sister-in-law, and fond aunt and cousin of many, Mrs. Green was known for her dedication, love, generosity and care for her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Although Mrs. Green will be dearly missed, the impact of her kindness and many good deeds will continue to inspire others, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her; and
WHEREAS, A truly exemplary human being, Mrs. Green will always be remembered for her selfless dedication to public service, her many contributions to the City of Chicago, and for her decency, strength of character, and faith; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Green is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, G. Patrick Green; her daughter, Susan; her grandchildren, Michael and Timothy Pistilion; her brothers-and sisters-in-law, Charles and Margaret Green, Bill...
