TO THE HONORABLE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I transmit herewith a resolution honoring the life and memory of Brian Gerard Donovan. Your favorable consideration of this resolution will be appreciated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Members of this Chamber were deeply saddened to learn of the passing on December 11, 2010, at age 49, of Brian G. Donovan; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Donovan was born at Mercy Hospital in Chicago on June 17, 1961; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Donovan grew up in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago and attended Nativity of our Lord grade school before graduating from DeLaSalle High School; and
WHEREAS, Following high school, Mr. Donovan graduated from St. Joseph's College in Resselaer, Indiana and later went on to graduate from Chicago Kent Law School; and
WHEREAS, Once out of law school, Mr. Donovan was employed at the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Afterwards, he practiced law with the esteemed Chicago law firm then known as Mayer Brown & Piatt. At the time of his passing, Mr. Donovan was employed as a manager in regulatory compliance at Commonwealth Edison; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Donovan lived in Western Springs, Illinois and made his children's sporting events the focus of his social life. He was determined not to miss a single one of his children's games; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Donovan also loved to golf with his brother Kevin and his long-time friends every Sunday at Glen Eagles Country Club, where he was affectionately known as "Birdie Bri." He also played basketball with his son at a weekly league; and
WHEREAS, On weekends, Mr. Donovan enjoyed trips with his friends to the family cottage in Wisconsin, and he treasured his time spent vacationing with his wife and family; and
WHEREAS, Brian G. Donovan, who was both a successful businessman and a dedicated family man, will be missed by his relatives and friends alike and will always be remembered above a...
