RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, after 29 years of dedicated public service to the City of Chicago, Officer Roman LaCoste has announced his retirement as a Police Officer of the Chicago Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed by this event by Alderman Virginia A. Rugai; and,
WHEREAS, Roman LaCoste, Star # 3009, began his career as a police officer on April 13, 1981; and,
WHEREAS, through his dedication, professionalism and personal sacrifice as a member of the law enforcement community, Roman provided us with one of the safest cities in the nation, allowing each of us to live and raise our families in securely and confidently; and,
WHEREAS, Officer Roman LaCoste is a distinguished officer, professionally earning 55 awards over 29 years, devoting his life to public service, as well as earning the respect and trust of his co-workers and friends; and,
WHEREAS, colleagues, friends and relatives of Roman will celebrate his retirement at a special gathering to be held on December 8, 2010, at the Beverly Country Club; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, in meeting assembled this 8"' day of December 2010, do hereby express our sincerest congratulations, pride and appreciation for the 29 years of devoted service Officer Roman LaCoste has provided and convey our heartiest best wishes to his for good health and happiness; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this resolution is prepared and presented to Officer Roman LaCoste, as a token of our appreciation and esteem.
