CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ■'UNITED STATES NATIONAL TAEKWONDO FEDERATION ON HOSTING THE 1NTERNATION COMPETITION
WHEREAS, The United States National Taekwondo Federation hosted the international competition at Triton College located at 2000 Fifth Ave., in River Grove
on July 30, 31st and August 1st, 2010; and
WHEREAS, competitors from around the globe attended and engaged their opponents in all aspects of this discipline; and
WHEREAS, July 31st was a special day during the course of the competition due to the fact that Governor Patrick Quinn declared that date as the UNITED STATES NATIONAL TAEKWONDO FEDERATION day in Illinois and he presented on that date a copy of the proclamation passed by the Illinois State Legislature. He also took part in a ceremony honoring him with the traditional and ornate clothing that confirms his status as a respected leader; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs are proud to host such events to entertain and enlighten residents of the communities as well as visitors who choose to come to our great state of Illinois. Hometown pride is on display as the residents of our communities participate and represent their respective populations in these endeavors; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Mayor and Members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this 8th day of December, 2010 do hereby offer our congratulations to the UNITED STATES TAEKWONDO FEDERATION on their selection as host of this global event.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the officials of the UNITED STATES NATIONAL TAEKWONDO FEDERATION to offraahVcommemorate this occasion.
