ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Blizzard of 2011 resulted in the City of Chicago canceling the enforcement of all parking meter violations for the period of February 1, 2011 through February 7, 2011, and
WHEREAS, during that same period of time the Blizzard of 2011 also affected vehicles who were issued citations as a direct result of the red light camera enforcement, and
WHEREAS, those citations for red light camera violations are being enforced even though right turn lanes were impassable and vehicles could not make sudden stops without endangering themselves and other vehicles.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Director of Revenue is herewith directed to non suit all citations issued as a result of red light cameras during the period of February 1, 2011 through February 7, 2011 because of the Blizzard of 2011.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Administrative Hearings is advised to so instruct all hearing officers to dismiss any cases involving red light cameras for the period of February 1, 2011 through February 7, 2011.
