Ladies and Gentlemen:
I transmit herewith a congratulatory resolution concerning the CTA Train Tracker program.
Your favorable consideration of this resolution will be appreciated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Chicago Transit Authority is an integral, essential part of the strengths that make Chicago the world-class city it is today; and
WHEREAS, Most Chicagoans rely on the CTA to get them safely and efficiently to their destinations around town, whether for work, errands, or recreation; and
WHEREAS, The history of the CTA is replete with important dates, from the start of horse-car service on April 25, 1859, to the opening of the first rail line on June 6, 1892, to the introduction of fare cards on August 18, 1997; and
WHEREAS, In its ceaseless quest to improve service, the CTA has provided another useful customer-oriented innovation; and
WHEREAS, Launched on January 8, 2011, the CTA's long-awaited "Train Tracker" program, which is similar to the popular Bus Tracker application, will post train arrival times on a designated Web site that will refresh every 30 seconds; and
WHEREAS, The new system will track trains on all eight rail lines, making travel on the CTA more convenient and reliable by providing citizens with relevant transit information to better plan their trips; and
WHEREAS, Thanks to "Train Tracker," CTA customers are able to track trains on their desktop computers or smart phones, just as they now can do with the Bus Tracker system; and
WHEREAS, In addition to the Web-based application, 10 CTA stations feature digital signs providing arrival information at either the platform or mezzanine levels; and
