RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING THE LIFE OF BETTY ADAMS
WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, has granted Betty Adams, eternal life on December. 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Betty Adams was born September 28, 1937 in Tunica, Mississippi to Callie and Walter Lee Wesson. At an early age Betty joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Johnson; and
WHEREAS, Betty Adams was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late John Adams Sr. To this union, eight children were born. She was a dedicated to her family and loved spending time with her children as well as having a house full of friends and relatives. Her greatest pleasure was playing with her great-grandchildren who brought her many joyous moments; and
WHEREAS, Betty Adams worked at Oscar Depriest School for many years as a Teacher's Aid. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church until her health failed; and
WHEREAS, Betty Adams leaves to cherish her memories: seven children, John, Gloria, Brenda, Rickie, Sheila, Leslie, and Eddie; seventeen grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; one sister, Beatrice; one brother, Emmer Wesson, and a host of relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deborah L. Graham, Alderman of the 29th Ward, has informed this august body of the passing of Betty Adams; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the city of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 9th day of February, 2011 A.D., do hereby express our sincere sorrow at the passing of Betty Adams and the extent our deepest condolence to her family, friends, and people whose lives he has touched.
BE IT FURTHE RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Betty Adams.
