The Museum of Broadcast Communications
Hon. Brendan Reilly Alderman - 42nd Ward 325 W. Huron Street Suite 510 Chicago, IL 60654
Dear Alderman: , !. . .,, .
Thank-you for you past support of a waiver for permit fees for the new Museum of Broadcast Communications at 360 North State Street at Kinzie. The MBC as you Know is a 501-C-3 non profit organization.
Your office has been quite helpful since we have been able to put the project back
on track thanks to the $6-million grant following passage of the state Capital Bill, with support
from the General Assembly and Governor Quinn.
Construction is now moving along at a fast pace—with an April 30,2011 deadline for completion of the Gold LEED building
However, we notice the current city permit waiver for non-profit organizations expires on December 31, 2010. We request that the waiver ordinance be extended so we can proceed to finish line without costly delays.
Attached is a copy of our IRS Tax Exemption form.
Also as we discussed at the City Club reception last week, please feel free to call me at 708-250-6844 at any time you wish to tour lhe site. I am; happy to. report the unsightly corner of State and Kinzie has been transformed—with old broken sidewalks replaced or repaired and now leveled in compliance with federal ADA rules
The MBC is proud to be the Gateway to River North—and we appreciate your leadership and continued support of this project. .;■
