Dear Alderman Smith, Attention: Ernie Constantino,
We the businesses of the 1500 block of Foster Avenue are seeking a loading zone in front of our businesses. Personally, after having received parking tickets while loading into my store, our block realized this was a problem. We hope you will agree with our request. Please find our answers to your questions below.
• Explain the Purpose for this loading or standing zone
The purpose for the loading zone is to facilitate easy unloading and loading of merchandise from the businesses on the South Side of Foster Ave.

ANDERSONVILLE
Chamber of Commerce
5 3 56 N. Clark Street. 2nd floor Chicago. Illinois 606+0

April 5, 2011
48th Ward Alderman Mary Ann Smith 5533 N. Broadway Chicago, IL 60640
Dear Alderman Smith,
The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce supports the application of Woolly Mammoth Antiques, Oddities & Resale LLC at 1513 W. Foster Ave for a loading zone on the south side of Foster from the alley east to the start of the bus stop zone on the southwest corner of Clark & Foster. As indicated in their request this space is approximately 29 feet in length.
As you know, ACC considers supporting turning street parking into loading or flashing zones only if a clear need is demonstrated and if there is no other loading area available on a block or adjacent side street. Because those businesses have no such area and have severely restricted access to the alley, and because no parking will be lost, and because the loading zone will be able to be used by a multitude of businesses, we support this request by Woolly Mammoth.
Thank you. Please let me know if I can provide any further information.
