Title: Tribute to late Oscar Carroll

WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Oscar Carroll, outstanding citizen and friend, home to his eternal reward Saturday, February 19, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Oscar Carroll, born July 16, 1922 on Sunflower Plantation in Merigold, Mississippi was the fourth of thirteen children born to the union of Revells and Mary Johnson Aldridge. Oscar's birth name was Revells Aldridge, but he changed it to Oscar Carroll after he was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1943; and
WHEREAS, Oscar was educated in Mound Bayou, Mississippi and later, after moving to St; Louis, Missouri he completed his education. He was baptized at an early age at the Pentecostal Faith Church and re-baptized at Cannon Baptist Church in Chicago where he participated joyously with the congregation; and
WHEREAS, Oscar and the former Viola D. Mitchell were united in marriage in 1945 and to this union two daughters were born, Lynn and Gail. Oscar was employed with the Pepper Construction Company as a Labor Foreman. He retired after 30 years of dedication to the company and the City of Chicago. He helped build many of the structures in the Chicago's Loop area as well as other areas throughout this great city; and
WHEREAS, Beloved father of Lynn (Eldridge) Daniels, Gail (James) Keith; loving grandfather of Sheila (Sterling) Humphrey, Thomas Mahon, Tara (Kenneth) Bowman, Victoria (Jamey) Bateast and Mia Daniels; great grandfather to Brandon,Daniels, Tavaris Reese, Kerbi Bowman, Christopher Humphrey and Morgan Bateast. Besides his loving family members, Oscar leaves to mourn his death and cherish his memory a host of other relatives and many friends. His devoted and loving wife and parents predeceased him; and
WHEREAS, To his family and friends, Oscar Carroll will be sorely missed and warmly remembered for his warmth, kindness and the dedication he demonstrated towards mankind; now, therefore,
