RE: Y-ME Race At Your Pace formerly Breast Cancer Network of Strength Walk to Empower Dear Alderman Reilly,
The 18th Annual Breast Cancer Y-ME Race At Your Pace event is scheduled to step off in Grant Park on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8th at 8:30am. This event is the largest fundraiser for the Y-ME national Breast Cancer Organization. Their mission is to ensure that those who have been touched by breast cancer receive the information and emotional support they need so that no one faces breast cancer alone. The fund raising goal for this year is $4.8 million and with the support of 40,000 participants, our corporate partners and the City of Chicago we are confident that this goal will be met.
Due to the tremendous success of last year's event, we plan to repeat the same course route and layout. The 5K runners and the 3 mile walkers will start on Columbus Drive proceeding south to Roosevelt, north to Michigan Avenue, north east on Congress Plaza, east on Congress Parkway, north on Columbus Drive, east on Randolph Drive, turnaround at Columbia Yacht Club, proceeding west on Randolph to Columbus Drive and finishing on Monroe Street just east of Columbus Drive.
