Olivo.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Members of this Chamber are proud to congratulate our friend and colleague, Alderman Frank J. Olivo, on his retirement from the City Council after 17 years of dedicated service to the people of the 13th Ward and the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of the 13th Ward, Alderman Olivo graduated from Saint Mary, Star ofthe Sea Elementary School and Gurdon S. Hubbard High School; and
WHEREAS, Alderman Olivo began his long and distinguished career working in various public sector positions, before being appointed Alderman ofthe 13th Ward by Mayor Richard M. Daley in 1994; and
WHEREAS, A champion ofthe safety and well-being ofthe residents of his Ward, Alderman Olivo has sponsored numerous ordinances and initiatives, including being a co-founder of the Graffiti Removal Program, designed to combat crime, and the Real Estate Anti-Solicitation Program, designed to protect the value of neighborhood homes; and
WHEREAS, As a valuable member ofthe City Council, Alderman Olivo has served on the City Council Committees on Committees, Rules, and Ethics; Aviation; Budget and Government Operations; Finance; License and Consumer Protection; Traffic Control and Safety; and Zoning; and
WHEREAS, Renowned for his dedication and commitment to delivering city services to his constituents quickly and efficiently, Alderman Olivo was able to marshal public and private resources for the improvement of his Ward, and has been involved in numerous community-building activities, including projects related to the reduction of crime and violence, neighborhood improvements, and economic development; and
