CONGRATULATING MB FINANCIAL BANK ON ITS CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, MB Financial Bank has deep roots in Chicago banking history beginning in 1911 with the founding of Mid-City National Bank. In 1934, Manufacturers Bank was founded and, after 67 successful years, these two community-focused banking institutions merged in 2001 to create MB Financial Bank; and
WHEREAS, For a century, MB Financial Bank has remained true to its traditional qualities of experience, strength and stability. It has played a significant role in the economic development of Northern Illinois; and
WHEREAS, 1,700 employees of MB Financial Bank staff more than 90 banking centers throughout the city, as well as an expansive network of ATMs; and
WHEREAS, MB Financial is a proud member of the community and committed to serving the financial needs of its residents as well as businesses by having employees with a hometown understanding; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable John A. Pope, Alderman of the 10 Ward, has apprised this august body of this great financial institution's century of service; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the City Council of Chicago, assembled on this 4th day of May 2010 A.D., do hereby congratulate MB Financial Bank on the occasion of its 100th Anniversary and extend our best wishes for its continuing success.
