RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On May 16, 2011, Eugene L. Munin completed his tenure as Budget Director for the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Before assuming the role of City Budget Director, Eugene L. Munin served as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), where in addition to managing more than one-hundred staffers, he helped to create transit funding legislation and various cost-saving measures; and
WHEREAS, Eugene L. Munin served for eight years in Chicago's Office of Budget and Management before rising to the position of Deputy Budget Director; and
WHEREAS, Eugene L. Munin holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois, a J.D. from DePaul University, an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and an M.P.A. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; and
WHEREAS, For nearly two years, Eugene L. Munin worked diligently to balance the city budget while protecting Chicago taxpayers in every responsible way; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this eighteenth day of May, 2011, do hereby express our sincere gratitude to Eugene L. Munin for his able service on behalf of the. people of the City of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Eugene L. Munin.
