AMENDMENT OF TITLE 9, CHAPTER 12, SECTION 170(a) OF MUNICIPAL CODE OF CHICAGO ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITATION ON RESIDENTIAL SIDE STREETS.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago:
SECTION 1. That Section 9-12-070(a) of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored and deleting the language stricken as follows:
9-12-070 Speed Limits.
(a) The provisions of Section 11-601 of the Illinois Vehicle Code shall be applicable on all streets within and under the jurisdiction of the city. The absolute statutory urban speed limit shall be 30 miles per hour in streets boulevards and commercial streets, 20 miles per hour in smaller residential streets and 15 miles per hour in alleys.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
