TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL DEWITT TURPEAU SR.
WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted eternal peace to Michael DeWitt Turpeau, Sr., an outstanding citizen and member of his community; and
WHEREAS, Michael Turpeau. attended Bardwell Elementary school and graduated from South Shore High School in June, 1976; and
WHEREAS, Michael Turpeau worked for the City Of Chicago's Department of Forestry for 30 years and did so with great pleasure knowing that he was helping maintain city's beautiful trees. When he wasn't working he would spend as much time as possible with his family playing board games and cards as well as bowling and playing darts;
WHEREAS, Michael Turpeau was the devoted son of Flora Lee Bailey Turpeau as well as the fond brother of Dexter Johnson and James Dabney. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Cheryl L. Bentley on March of 1980 and was the proud father of Michael DeWitt Turpeau Jr., to whom he dedicated much of his time to guide and nurture him all the way to a successful adulthood. He also leaves behind to mourn his loss and celebrate his memory his granddaughter Teagan Dianna Turpeau, as well as his daughter-in-law Kimberly Ragland Turpeau.; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Sandi Jackson, Alderman of the 7th Ward, has informed this august body of the passing of this hardworking citizen and committed family man; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this 28th day of July, 2011 AD do hereby express our sincerest sorrow upon learning the passing of Michael DeWitt Turpeau, Sr. and extend our deepest condolence to his loving family and all those whose lives he touched.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That suitable copied of this resolution be prepared n=and presented to this family of Michael DeWitt Turpeau, Sr.
