WHEREAS, On Thursday, May 26, 2011, the Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom called to his eternal paradise, Dorothy Mae Wright; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this by 18,h Ward Alderman Lona Lane; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy was born March 13,1929 in Evansville, Indiana, to the union of Emrich and Lucille Tyler. She was the eldest of nine children; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and united with Stevenson Station Church of God in Stevenson Station, Indiana. She attended Stevenson Station Elementary school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947 in Evansville, Indiana. She returned to school in her later years, graduating with honors, receiving an Associate Degree in Computer Science as the eldest and top student in her class in 1987;and
WHEREAS, She was very active and responsible at the family farm and cared dearly for her eight younger siblings like a second mother. She loved the outdoors and was an avid sportswoman and athlete; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Labor & Delivery, and retired from Community Family Center upon its closing. She then worked at numerous places including the family's restaurant; and
WHEREAS, She moved to Chicago and married James Wright, and from this union two daughters were born, Michelle D. Wright and Stephanie A. Wright. She later married James Walker Tramil, and from this union two sons were born, James William Tramil and Anthony K. Tramil. She later married Leon Franklin, Jr. and no children were born to this union; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy loved all the Chicago teams but, most of all, the Chicago Bulls. She took less privileged kids to many games. She was an excellent cook, making dishes from scratch; picking and canning many foods. She was best known among the family for her peach cobbler. She also loved to knit and crochet and made many baby blankets. She won numerous sales awards as a top distributor for Artistry Jewelry. She ...
