RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Walter E. Biesiada has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 69; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, Walter E. Biesiada was the beloved companion of Ro Sila with whom he spent many happy years; and
 
WHEREAS, Walter E. Biesiada was the proud father of Deborah Schiesl and grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, Walter E. Biesiada was the cherished brother of Patricia; and
 
WHEREAS, A former Chicago Police Officer, Walter E. Biesiada was a dedicated and widely respected member of the law enforcement community; and
 
WHEREAS, With his finely tuned investigative instincts, Walter E. Biesiada successfully apprehended many suspects during his career in Chicago's 18th District and as an Area 5 Detective; and
 
WHEREAS, Walter E. Biesiada served the best interests of his fellow officers as the Treasurer of the Confederation of Police; and
 
WHEREAS, As a Chicago Police Academy instructor Walter E. Biesiada shared his wisdom and vast experience with recruits; and
 
WHEREAS, During his 32 years with the Chicago Police Department, Walter E. Biesiada touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Walter E. Biesiada serve as an example to all; and
 
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Walter E. Biesiada to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Walter E. Biesiada imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this tenth day of April, 2013, do hereby commemorate Walter E. Biesiada for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walter E. Biesiada.
