RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Brian Bauer has officially retired as a member of the Chicago Fire Department following more than three decades of distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Brian Bauer began his illustrious tenure with the City of Chicago as a firefighter on February 19,1980; and
WHEREAS, Brian Bauer's first assignment was a twelve-year stint at Engine Company 122; and
WHEREAS, Brian Bauer was next assigned to Engine 54 and became an Engineer; and
WHEREAS, As an Engineer, Brian Bauer was assigned to District 1 Relief, District 5 Relief, and in 1999 found a "home" at Engine 116; and
WHEREAS, On February 1st, 2006, Brian Bauer was promoted to Lieutenant, and served for the remainder of his career on Engine Company 88; and
WHEREAS, Brian Bauer retired at the end of 2012 after ably serving the citizens of Chicago for 32 years; and
WHEREAS, Brian Bauer received two promotions and numerous Unit Citation Awards during his years in service; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Lieutenant Brian Bauer serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this tenth day of April, 2013, do hereby express our sincere appreciation to Lieutenant Brian Bauer for his dedicated service on behalf of the people of the City of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lieutenant Brian Bauer.
