MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It was with great sadness that members of this chamber learned of the March 8, 2013 death of Alberto Restrepo; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Alberto Restrepo was an active and vital member of his community. The loving husband of Nury for forty-eight years; beloved father of Mario, Ricardo, Claudia (Jeff) Podgorny, and Alexandra (Jonathan) Ewing; cherished grandfather of Nicole, David, Jacqueline and Jessica, Alberto Restrepo leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Alberto grew up in Columbia before immigrating to the United States where he was able to follow his passion of traveling the world by becoming a travel agent; and
WHEREAS, Alberto will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this tenth day of April 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Alberto Restrepo and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alberto Restrepo.
