SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2018 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads
of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health has been awarded additional federal carryover grant funds in the amount of $40,000 by the Illinois Department of Public Health which shall be used for the Dental Sealant Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Family and Support Services has been awarded additional private grant funds in the amount of $16,000 by the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, Inc. which shall be used for the Summer Jobs Connect Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection has been awarded federal grant funds in the amount of $225,000 by the Illinois Department of Human Services which shall be used for the Tobacco Enforcement Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Transportation has been awarded additional public grant funds in the amount of $11,380,000 by the County of Cook which shall be used for the Cook County Highway Program; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. The sum of $11,621,000 not previously appropriated, representing new grant awards and $40,000 in carryover grant awards not previously appropriated are hereby appropriated from Fund 925 - Grant Funds for the year 2018. The Annual Appropriation Ordinance is hereby amended by striking the words and figures and adding the words and figures indicated in the attached Exhibit A which is hereby made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. To the extent that any ordinance, resolution, rule, order or provision of the Municipal Code of Chicago, or part thereof, is in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, the provisions of this ordinance shall control. If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, the invalidity of such section, paragraph, clause or provision shall not affect any of the other provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
