RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 79; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, A resident of Northbrook, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., was a widely admired commercial and investment banker and the loving husband of Marge; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., was the much-adored father of Liz and John and the grandfather of six to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, Raised in River Forest, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., was the namesake son of Homer J. Livingston, Sr., a renowned member of the financial community and the former Chairman of First National Bank of Chicago; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and served his country in the United States Navy; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., joined his father at First National Bank of Chicago in 1962 and earned a law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., left the bank in 1979 to join Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb and in 1982 joined William Blair 86 Company as a partner; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., went oh to head LaSalle National Bank and later became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Midwest Stock Exchange which he renamed the Chicago Stock Exchange; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., served on the boards of many companies, including Peoples Energy, Great lakes Dredge 8& Dock and Everen Securities; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Homer J. Livingston, Jr., serve as an example to all; and
 
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Homer J. Livingston, Jr.,^ to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled tiim to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many, relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Homer J. Livingston, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-first day of January, 2015, do hereby commemorate Homer J. Livingston, Jr., for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
