RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of Stanley T. Lihosit's retirement after 25 years of service as a mayoral appointee of the Midway Noise Compatibility Commission by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, Stan is happily married to Ann and was active in the Archer Heights Community for over 45 years; and

WHEREAS, Stan and Ann have recently moved to Victorian Village in Homer Glen, Illinois; and

 

WHEREAS, Stan has four sons, David, Andrew, Steven, and Douglas who all went to Marie Curie High School during which time he was elected President of the Curie School Council; and

 

WHEREAS, Stan previously served as a member ofthe St. Bruno Grammar School Parent Teacher Association, St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Bruno's Church, Member and Chairman of St. Bruno's Finance Council, Chairman of St. Bruno's Carnival Committee, and chaired other St. Bruno committees and lead several parish fund raising initiatives; and

 

WHEREAS, For almost two decades, Stan served as President of the Archer Heights Civic Association ("AHCA") as well as Vice President; and

 

WHEREAS, During the 1960s and 1970s, Stan chaired the AHCA's Community Pop Art Contest, a beautification program endorsed by the City that encouraged residents to creatively paint their alley trash cans, 50 gallon metal drums which some were exhibited at the Ford City Mall; and

 

WHEREAS, In 2013, Stan became AHCA's Executive Director and a member of AHCA's Neighborhood Watch; and

 

WHEREAS, He was chair of the Annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt and Annual Children's Halloween Party held in Archer Park; and

 

WHEREAS, Stan was appointed by then 23rd Ward Aldermen William O. Lipinski and William F, Krystyniak to the 23rd Ward Zoning Board; and

 

WHEREAS, On May 30lh, 2018 Stan was one of 50 recipients (one from each ward) to receive the City of Chicago's Senior of the Year Distinguished Service Award for his many years of volunteer service to his community, civic association, his parish of St. Bruno, Curie High School, and several other fraternal and civic groups; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-sixth day of January, 2022, do hereby recognize the 25 Years of Service as a Member of the Midway Noise Compatibility Commission as well as Stanley T. Lihosit's lifetime achievements and accolades; and

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Stanley T. Lihosit.
