RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Reverend Antoni J. Bury, the Pastor of St. Bruno Church, has celebrated the 25^th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood at a Mass of Thanksgiving on June 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, Born on July 27, 1965, in Pieszyce, Poland, the Reverend Antoni J. Bury studied at the Seminary of St. Pope Pius X from 1985 to 1991; and

WHEREAS, The Reverend Antoni J. Bury was ordained in Wroclaw, Poland on May 18, 1991; and

WHEREAS, The Reverend Antoni J. Bury ministered in the Archdiocese of Wroclaw until he came to the United States in 2000; and

WHEREAS, The Reverend Antoni J. Bury's first assignment in America was as Associate Pastor of St. Bruno Parish on the Southwest Side of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, The Reverend Antoni J. Bury later served as Associate Pastor of St. Symphorosa Parish before being incardinated into the Archdiocese of Chicago and returning as Pastor of St. Bruno on July 1, 2009; and

WHEREAS, While St. Bruno Parish was originally established more than ninety years ago as a parish serving Chicago's Polish community, today it serves a diverse population and offers Masses in English, Polish and Spanish; and

WHEREAS, Known for his devotion to ministry, welcoming nature and keen sense of humor, the Reverend Antoni J. Bury is an inspirational figure who has contributed greatly to the vitality and faithfulness of the Archer Heights community; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Reverend Antoni J. Bury serve as an example to all; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-second day of June, 2016, do hereby

congratulate the Reverend Antoni J. Bury on the anniversary of his ordination and do hereby express our best wishes for his continued good health and happiness; and
