RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of sixty-seven; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh was a longtime writer and producer for WLS-TV in Chicago where she was widely admired for her versatility and strong news instincts; and
 
WHEREAS, Raised in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh attended the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh; and
 
WHEREAS, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh began her career in print journalism at the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter where she rose to become the features and entertainment editor; and
 
WHEREAS, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh was hired by WLS-TV as a researcher in 1972 before becoming a news writer and a producer of investigative reports and newscasts; and
 
WHEREAS, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh was a member of the National Association of Broadcasting Engineers and Technicians and was the union steward for the writers group; and
 
WHEREAS, In addition to her consummate professionalism, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh never lost her appreciation for the humor and irony she encountered while covering the news; and
 
WHEREAS, Following a long and dedicated career in the broadcasting business, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh retired in 2002 and divided her time between homes in Des Plaines and Sarasota; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Susan Kathryn Mcintosh serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Susan Kathryn Mcintosh to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
 
WHEREAS, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To her two brothers, John and William, and her beloved family, Susan Kathryn Mcintosh imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifth day of February, 2014, do hereby commemorate Susan Kathryn Mcintosh for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable cod/ of this resolution be presented to the family of Susan Kathryn Mcintosh.
