RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Pugh, Jones & Johnson, one of the largest minority-owned and managed law firms in the Midwest, will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Friday, October 7, 2016; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, Pugh, Jones 8& Johnson, P.C. was established in 1991 and provides legal services in complex civil and white collar criminal trials and appeals, municipal finance, complex commercial real estate transactions and other transactional expertise to corporations, governmental entities, institutions and entrepreneurs; and

 

WHEREAS, Pugh, Jones & Johnson attorneys are labor and employment trial lawyers and counsel on specific claims including administrative proceedings, federal and state court lawsuits, mediation, arbitration and collective bargaining; and

 

WHEREAS, Pugh, Jones 8s Johnson additionally specializes in areas including patent, employment, insurance, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, medical malpractice and pharmaceutical products liability cases and handles highly sophisticated corporate internal investigations; and

 

WHEREAS, Pugh, Jones 8s Johnson also has extensive experience in regulatory proceedings, particularly cases involving energy and telecommunications; and

 

WHEREAS, In the public finance area, Pugh, Jones 85 Johnson advocates as bond counsel, co-bond counsel, special tax counsel, counsel to credit enhancement providers and issuer's counsel; and

 

WHEREAS, With offices in Chicago and New York City, Pugh, Jones 8b Johnson maintains a full-service real estate practice with extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, privatization, development, leasing, financing and construction; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, professionalism and dedication of Pugh, Jones 8& Johnson serve as an example to all; now, therefore

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifth day of October, 2016, do hereby congratulate Pugh, Jones & Johnson on its 25th Anniversary and do hereby declare that October 7, 2016, shall be officially recognized as Pugh, Jones & Johnson Day throughout the City of Chicago; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Stephen Pugh and Walter Jones, founders of Pugh, Jones 8s Johnson. //
