RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan Nunnelee has gone to his eternal reward at the age of 56; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, A resident of Tupelo, the Honorable Alan Nunnelee was a Congressman from the State of Mississippi and the loving husband of Tori; and

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan Nunnelee was the much-adored father of three children and the grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, A Republican, the Honorable Alan Nunnelee was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2010 and was described by his colleagues as a "rare calming presence in the cauldron of politics"; and

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan Nunnelee was a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee where he carved out a reputation as a fiscal conservative; and

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan Nunnelee previously served for 15 years as a member of the Mississippi Senate; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Alan Nunnelee serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Alan Nunnelee to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Alan Nunneleewas an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Alan Nunnelee imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eighteenth day of March, 2015, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Alan Nunnelee for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Thata suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Hon^frable Alan Nunnelee.
