CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO JACQUALINE KOSTRZEWA ON RETIREMENT FROM NORTH MAYFAIR IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, Jacqualine Kostrzewa, one of North Mayfair Improvement Association's most dedicated and respected members, is retiring; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Jacqualine Kostrzewa has represented the highest standards of community service, worthy of the respect of all city residents; and
WHEREAS, Jacqualine Kostrzewa - mother of John, Jean, Karen and Suzie and grandmother of Courtney, Jonathan, Anthony, Christopher and Collette - has contributed greatly to the efficient operation of the North Mayfair Community Association. Having been elected 2nd Vice President in January, 1993 and then re-elected 17 times, she was a liaison between the North Mayfair Improvement Association, the office of the 39th Ward Alderman, and the "Chicago Police Department, writing crime statistic articles for the North Mayfair Improvement Association's monthly newsletter, The Improver. She also served as NMIA's financial secretary for four years; and
WHEREAS, Over the past two decades, Jacqualine Kostrzewa has volunteered for neighborhood cleanups, river cleanups, 4th of July Parades, the Chicago Police Department's "Hooked on Fishing" and "National Night Out" events, to name a few, where her hard work and diligence will certainly be missed; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed our neighborhood association members; now therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fourth day of May, 2011, do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Jacqualine Kostrzewa as she retires and we extend to this fine citizen our very best wishes for continuing success and fulfillment; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Jacqualine Kostrzewa.
