RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M. Sayers* has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 82; and
WHEREAS, The Chieago^Gity Council has been informed of hisv-passing by Alderman Edward Mv.Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M. Sayers, was a Roman Catholic Priest in the. Chicago Archdiocese for more than 56-years; and
WHEREAS, A native.^of Chicago, the Reverend James M. Sayers was the beloved son of- the late; James and Mary, nee^Moriarty,rand dear brother ofthe late Patrick; and .5
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M. Sayers^ was ordained to the priesthood on ApriL l-2, 1958 by Samuel Cardinalstritch; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M-. Sayers fi'rst^served as an Associate Pastor at Visitation"Church on West Garfield . Boulevard from 1958 to 1966;.and

WHEREAS, The Reverend- James 'M. Sayers was then assigned as an Associate Pastor to Sjb. Kiiian Parish from 19(56 to 1971, St. Germaine Parish from 1971 to" 1976, and St Thomas^Mofe. Parish from 1976 to 1980; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M. Sayers."was" the Pastor of St. Joseph Church in Homewood for more than two decades^before his retirement in

2002 when he was named Pastor Emeritus; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M. Sayers mpved' to Naples, Florida in his retirement where<he ministered to the Ursiiline Sisters; and
WHEREAS, The holiness, sacrifice and dedicatibn of the Reverend James M. Sayers serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend James M". Sayers. 'Will Be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and former parishioners; and
WHEREAS, To his cojisin, John Moriarty, the Reverend James M. Sayers imparts, a legacy offaitfifulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
