RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 70; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini was the first and only female Mayor of the City of Salt Lake City, Utah; and
 
WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Rhode Island, the Honorable Deedee Corradini was the daughter of Marie-Louise and the Reverend Horace McMullen, a theologian and minister; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini graduated from Drew University and earned a master's degree in psychology from the University of Utah; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini served in office from 1992 to 2000 and played a leading role in bringing the 2002 Winter Olympics to Utah; and
 
WHEREAS, During her highly esteemed tenure, the Honorable Deedee Corradini presided over a period of growth and redeveloped Salt Lake City's downtown area; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini also brought a light rail system to Salt Lake City and won federal funding to reconstruct its freeway system; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini was a Past President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Chair of the Utah Symphony Board of Directors; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Deedee Corradini serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Deedee Corradini will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
 
WHEREAS, To her loving husband, John Huebner, her two children, Andrew and Andrea, and her three grandchildren, the Honorable Deedee Corradini imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eighteenth day of March, 2015, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Deedee Corradini for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy/Of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable Deedee Gdrradini.
