RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable David R. Schultz has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-one; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable David R. Schultz was the loving and devoted husband of Candace; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable David R. Schultz was a beloved father who imparted to his children many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable David R. Schultz attended Bowen High School and graduated from Chicago Teachers College; and
 
WHEREAS, An educator of outstanding dedication and talent, the Honorable David R. Schultz spent more than three decades of his life as an elementary school teacher and principal; and
 
WHEREAS, After retiring from education, the Honorable David R. Schultz served three terms as an Alderman for Warrenville's 2nd Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, An eloquent advocate for quality of life issues, the Honorable David R. Schultz played a key role in establishing a quiet zone along railroad lines that ran through residential neighborhoods; and
 
WHEREAS, A man of great integrity and moral conviction, the Honorable David R. Schultz was involved in many worthy civic and charitable causes; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable David R. Schultz serve as an example to all; and
 
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable David R. Schultz to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable David R. Schultz imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of September, 2013, do hereby commemorate the Honorable David R. Schultz for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable David R. Schultz.
