RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Patrick E. Mahoney has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 78; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, A resident of Western Springs, Patrick E. Mahoney was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband of Jeanne; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick E. Mahoney was the much-addred father of Timothy, Maureen, Peggy, Tom and Terry and the grandfather of twelve to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, Raised in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, Patrick E. Mahoney graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and DePaul University College of Law; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick E. Mahoney was a partner in the law firm of Mahoney, Crowe & Goldrick, P.C., where he specialized in personal injury cases; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick E. Mahoney played an instrumental role in helping to save St. Angela's Elementary School on the West Side from closure a decade ago and helped the institution to thrive and increase enrollment; and

 

WHEREAS, An individual of great generosity and concern for others, Patrick E. Mahoney served as a member of the Board of Directors of Misericordia Home; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick E. Mahoney was involved with Misericordia for 38 years where he provided pro bono legal advice and donated money to build a residential house on its campus; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Patrick E. Mahoney serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Patrick E. Mahoney to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick E. Mahoney was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Patrick E. Mahoney imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this' fifteenth day of April, 2015, do hereby commemorate Patrick E. Mahoney for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patricio E. Mahoney. /
