MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Adrienne V. Gleason on February 5, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Adrienne was the beloved mother of sixteen; Nancy (Lawrence) Richter, Judith (Douglas Shreffler), Mary Faith (the late Thomas) Flahive, Kathleen (Abel Macias), Maureen (Charles Farley), Joanne (George Hogen); Joseph (Bea) Garcia, Martin (Susan), Colleen (Michael) Galich, Brian (Karen), Kevin (Kelly), Patricia (Daniel) Wagner, Timothy (Susan), Joseph (Lisa), the late William M. (Sue Krueter, and former husband of Donna), the late Terrence (Gloria); proud and cherished grandmother of fifty-seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, preceded in death by her youngest angels, Nora Gleason and Kevin Garcia; loving sister of Kathleen "Kay" Eisinger and preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers; dear aunt of many and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Adrienne leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Adrienne was an amazing woman who always had time and enough food for all who wanted to join in. She was a retired registered nurse who had practiced at Martha Washington Hospital; she was co-founder and director of Cuneo's Women's Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program and also a long-time school nurse; and
WHEREAS, Adrienne touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this eighteenth day of March 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Adrienne V. Gleason and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Adrienne V. Gleason as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
