CONGRATULATIONS TO KAREN HAND ON HYPNOSIS EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
WHEREAS, Karen Hand, Board Certified Hypnotist, Certified Instructor, and Neuro-linguistic Programing Master Practitioner, has received the esteemed Educator of the Year Award, at the 2018 Mid-America Hypnosis Conference on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 in Northbrook, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this important professional accolade by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Karen has a history of being acknowledged for her passion, expertise commitment, and the significance of her results in helping people make positive changes in their lives. In 2010 she received the Hypnotist of the Year Award at Mid-America Hypnosis Conference; in 2013, she was appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the Mid-America Hypnosis Conference; and, in 2014, Karen received the Leadership Award from Banyan Hypnosis in California; and
WHEREAS, Karen's skill-set has positively impacted many people's life experience, including enabling clients to increase self-esteem, self-acceptance, lasting positive attitude, and the release of limiting beliefs or paralyzing fears. She specializes in pain management, as well as a whole host of other physical and mental health related areas that effect how people think and feel about their daily lives; and
WHEREAS, Karen holds a commitment to sharing with others what she has learned in during the course of her career. She does this by presenting at many conferences around the country and making hypnosis education - both of practitioners and the public - a significant part of her work, thus earning her this 2018 Award; and
WHEREAS, Karen has demonstrated her passion for helping others throughout her professional life. Prior to transitioning to becoming a trained hypnotist in 2005, Karen had a long career in Chicago radio being an on-air personality and talk show host at WLS, B96 and WCKG, having headlined the top-rated program "Private Lives" with Dr. Kelly Johnson for more than a decade which focused on helping Chicagoans with self-improvement and relationship issues; now and therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor, and members of the City Council of Chicago, gathered here this twelfth day of December, 2018, do hereby extend our most hearty congratulations to Karen Hand on receiving this year's award; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Karen Hand as a sign of our honor and respect.
