RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, George S. Feiwell has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 91; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, George S. Feiwell was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband of the late Marilyn; and
WHEREAS, George S. Feiwell was the much-adored father of Todd and Annie, the proud grandfather of four and the devoted companion of Jan Kramer; and
WHEREAS, As a young adult, George S. Feiwell led an adventurous life and worked as a rancher in Wyoming where he performed at rodeos and raced cars arid boats; and
WHEREAS, George S. Feiwell earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, George S. Feiwell practiced for more than six decades in local, state and federal courtrooms and tried a case which was at the time the longest jury trial in the history of the Northern District of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, In later years George S. Feiwell focused? primarily on cases in the Domestic Relations Division of Codk County; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of George S. Feiwell serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared George S. Feiwell to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, George S. Feiwell was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, George S. Feiwell imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twelfth day of December, 2018, do hereby commemorate George S. Feiwell for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George S. Feiwell. /
