RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Rosemary Krimbel has officially announced her retirement from the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Raised in St. Tolentine Parish, Rosemary Krimbel graduated from Hubbard High School, Elmhurst College and the Chicago-Kent College of Law; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Krimbel worked for the Chicago law firm of Schiff Hardin from 1992 to 1999 when she joined the City of Chicago as an Assistant Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Krimbel was chosen by Mayor Rahm Emanuel in 2014 to serve as Special Deputy for Regulatory Reform; and
WHEREAS, In that role of responsibility, Rosemary Krimbel performed multi-departmental reviews of the municipal code and proposed modernization efforts with an eye on streamlining governmental processes and saving taxpayers' dollars; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Krimbel ably served from 2011 to 2014 as Commissioner of the Department Business Affairs and Consumer Protection where she managed 200 employees and oversaw the issuance of 80,000 business licenses; and
WHEREAS, From 2006 to 2011, Rosemary Krimbel was the General Counsel and Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection; and
WHEREAS, From 2001 to 2006, Rosemary Krimbel served as a Senior Counsel in the Department of Law; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her long and illustrious career, Rosemary Krimbel upheld the highest and most noble ideals of public service; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Rosemary Krimbel serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this eighteenth day of November, 2015 do hereby congratulate Rosemary Krimbel on the occasion of her retirement and do herby express our best wishes for her continued good health, happiness and prosperity; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rosemary Krimbal.
