RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-seven; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, was the loving and devoted husband for nearly fifty years of Elizabeth "Betty"; and
WHEREAS, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, was the much adored father of Cheryl, Debra and Kathleen and the grandfather of ten to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, was a forty-seven year resident of Bellwood and a retired computer programmer for AT&T; and
WHEREAS, Known for his fairness and unflinching civic commitment, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, served for many years as a valued member of the Bellwood Fire & Police Commission; and
WHEREAS, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, also ably served on the village's Zoning Board of Appeals and as President of the Boosters Club of Proviso West High School in Hillside; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourth day of May, 2011, do hereby commemorate Padraic "Pat" Gallagher, II, for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Padraic "Pat^Gallagher, II. /
