RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Phyllis Albrecht has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 80; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Phyllis Albrecht was the first female Village President of Lake Bluff and the loving wife of 58 years of James L; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Phyllis Albrecht was the much-adored mother of Ann, Karen and James and the grandmother of five to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, the Honorable Phyllis Albrecht worked for 25 years as a clinical instructor in speech and language at Northwestern Memorial Hospital; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Phyllis Albrecht was a former President of the Lake Bluff Chapter of the League of Women Voters and helped to establish the Lake Bluff History Museum; and
 
WHEREAS, A woman with an exuberant spirit who demonstrated a true love for her community, the Honorable Phyllis Albrecht was a Village Trustee for eight years before serving as Village President from 1981 to 1985; and
 
WHEREAS, The Village of Lake Bluff established the Phyllis Albrecht Award in 2014 in her honor to recognize community service; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Phyllis Albrecht serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Phyllis Albrecht will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, the Honorable Phyllis Albrecht imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixth day of May, 2015, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Phyllis Albrecht for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable Phyllis Albrecht.
