RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald. J.P. Banks has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God-^at the age of 76; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago .City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Ed ward Jvl. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The. Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks -jprjas a widely admired member of the judiciary .-and the loving husband of Donna, nee Smat; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks was the much-adored father of Ronald, Kimberly, Samuel, Lynn, Hope and Heather and the grandfather of 'five to whom he imparted many of the fine ands noble qualities that he possessed-fin abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks was the dear brother of Marlene Panebianco,Hhe Honorable William J.R. and the late James and the late Samuel V.P. and
WHEREAS, Raised in the Austin neighborhpodon the Far West Side, the Honorable Ronald J.P.' Banks was the son'-of'the late Hope Marie arid James J., a currency exchange owner; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks' graduated from De Paul University College of Law and began his legal career as a Cook County prosecutor; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks>went on to enjoy a long and highly distinguished-career as a Cook County Circuit Court Judge; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks'.presided over the 1985 trial of three chemical company supervisors accused of murder in the case ofa factory worker who died, after inhaling" 'cyanide fumes from a solution used to recover-silver; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks retired from the bench in 2000; and
WHEREAS, The har.d work, sacrifice and dedication .of the Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks serve .as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Ronald J['P. Bankp will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends,'and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Ro.nald J.P. Banks imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Maypr and.£he.members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-firsts day: of January, 2015,>do hereby commemorate the Honorable Ronald J.P. Banks for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our.condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable "copy of ^this resolution . be presented to the family ofthe Honorable Ronald cJ^P. Banks.
