RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn, nee Murtaugh, was a retired public servant and the loving wife of Daniel; and

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn was the much-adored mother of Laura, Daniel, Kevin and Eileen and the grandmother of ten to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, Raised in St. Rita Parish, Judith E. Kiehn was the beloved daughter of the late Ann and George Murtaugh Sr. and the sister of the late Mary Lou, Ann and George Jr; and

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn graduated from Visitation High School and raised her family of four children in St. Clare de Montefalco Parish; and

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn worked with great commitment and diligence for decades at the 14th Ward Community Service Office where she strived to improve the quality of life of countless residents of the Southwest Side; and

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn held the love of her family above all else and was a faithful member of St. John Fisher Church; and

 

WHEREAS, The sacrifice and dedication of Judith E. Kiehn serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Judith E. Kiehn to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, Judith E. Kiehn will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and neighbors; and

 

 

WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Judith E. Kiehn imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of September, 2018, do hereby commemorate Judith E. Kiehn for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this^resolution be presented to the family of Judith E. Kiehn. /
