RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., has gone to his eternal reward at the age of 47; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Glen Ellyn, the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., was a DuPage County elected official and the loving husband of Becky, nee Lauritsen; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., was the much-adored father of Lauren, Molly, Abigail, Sara and Martin to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., was the devoted son of Jerome F. and Ellen and the dear brother of Kara, William and Joy; and
WHEREAS, Born in Chicago, the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., graduated from Fenwick High School and Loras College in Iowa before joining the family-run McBride Insurance Agency; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., ably served since 2006 as a member of the DuPage County Board where he was known for his ability to find consensus and connect with people; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable. Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., served as Chairman of the Legislative Committee and previously chaired the Judicial and Public Safety, Public Transit, and Technology committees; and
WHEREAS, Before entering public service, the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., actively participated in civic affairs and was a member of the Main Street Redevelopment Committee in Forest Park, the Glen Ellyn Architectural Review Commission and the Glen Ellyn Rotary Club; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, integrity and dedication of the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifth day of November, 2014, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
